Completed April 6, 2014, these little guys are all fancy. Well, the pure light gray one is fancy mainly because she’s playing with the new clip-fastener concept (hence the name Clippy). The others, from left to right when they’re spread out that way, are Mocha Mouse, Domino, Siamouse, Shimmer, and Gordo, and they are all actual fancy-mouse colors and not fantasies. Siamouse is a “Himalayan” variant, and Shimmer – whose glittery coat fails to show up properly in the pictures – is from a black-and-tan lab strain bred to produce genetic clones (aside from sex differences); all her kin are so similar that they even carry their tails at that weird 45-degree angle.

All of these little darlings have homes of their own now, but there are lots of mice in the menagerie. Write to the Salamander to discuss adoption of whichever one squeaks to you most.
