Completed February 5, 2010, in an effort to see if folded wings might be easier than spread ones. (They’re not.) The beak is wet felted.

The eye was an Awful Experiment in pursuit of the gleam; I now know that black nail polish doesn’t work on that sort of expanse—but fortunately, it could be removed. (November 2011: Lacquer can work on any expanse of wool, it turns out, but it has to go onto the eyes before the eyes go into the head. See Building the Lindsay Raccoon on the "In the Workshop" page for more on this concept.)

The parrot is hiding on the back of a shelf here, but would love to find another home. Write to the Salamander to discuss details.
