This gal – the only magnet hedgehog in the bunch – is based on a big fuller’s teasel head that was soaked overnight, split, and pressed open to dry, then bleached and dried again. I used fabric stiffener on the underside in an effort to improve the grip of the spines, which turned out to be pointless as it gets nowhere near the area that matters. I used thin bunches of brown wool laid crisscross along the lines between the spines to give the appearance of fur, and to provide anchor strings to fasten the teasel to the armature.
