Completed June 17, 2011. This creature (a flightless and unsurprisingly endangered New Zealand parrot) is a commissioned piece. It’s a little over half life-sized, instead of the agreed-upon quarter-scale; the beak turned out to require a lot more bird than it looked like while under construction.

This big bird already has a home, but you can write to the Salamander if you’d like to discuss the creation of someone similar for yourself.
